Open Source JBoss Server Optimized for MySQL Database Servers; Companies to Jointly Market Integrated Technologies
JBoss Group LLC, provider of the most popular Java application server, and MySQL AB, developer of the world’s most popular open source database, today announced an alliance that includes integration of the open source JBoss® application server with MySQL’s database servers, to simplify development and deployment of Web-based applications with open source technologies. In addition, the companies will jointly market JBoss Group professional services and MySQL AB products and services.
As part of the partnership, JBoss Group is optimizing performance and ease of installation of its J2EE-based application server with MySQL AB’s open source database server family, which includes MySQL®, the company’s high performance flagship database, and MaxDB™ by MySQL, its SAP-certified enterprise database. Both companies’ technologies are already widely deployed at major corporations, including Sterling Commerce and LeapFrog Enterprises.
“By providing JBoss and MySQL technologies as part of the Gentran Integration Suite, we are able to give our customers proven, open source technologies that can significantly reduce the cost of developing an e-business infrastructure,” said Steve Ulrich, product manager, Sterling Commerce. “Gentran Integration Suite is a sophisticated data integration product that helps companies with all types of business integration and supply chain connectivity requirements. “As open source trailblazers, both JBoss Group and MySQL AB are committed to the concept of professional open source, which requires that our technology and services be able to withstand the most challenging customer environments. Tight integration of JBoss and MySQL will only push open source deeper in the enterprise and provide enterprises with even greater peace of mind,” said Marc Fleury, president and founder of JBoss Group, LLC.
