Partnership Focuses On MySQL and PHP Compatibility for Better Open Source Software Integration

MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, and Zend Technologies, designers of the PHP Web scripting engine, today announced a partnership to simplify and improve productivity in developing and deploying Web applications with open source technologies. Through the alliance, the companies are improving compatibility and integration between the MySQL® database and Zend's PHP products to make it easier for businesses to use complete open source solutions, such as the popular LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) software stack.

MySQL is a high performance open source relational database management system for Web site and business application development and deployment. PHP is an open source server-side scripting language for creating dynamic Web pages for e-commerce and other Web applications. It is estimated that over 10 million Web-based applications have been built using MySQL and PHP through low-cost open source software stacks such as LAMP.

CORESense is a developer of retail software systems based on Zend's PHP products and MySQL database.
