MySQL Database Selected for Active Voice's Repartee LX Unified Messaging Solution

MySQL Extends Performance, Reliability, Cost Benefits of Repartee LX System

MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that Active Voice, LLC, a subsidiary of NEC America, Inc. and the third largest voice messaging provider in the United States1, has selected MySQL® as the database management system for its new Repartee LX Unified Messaging Solution. The Repartee LX system, which runs on the Linux operating system, ships with an embedded MySQL database to store and manage all data for Repartee LX customer deployments.

Active Voice's Repartee LX unified messaging solution leverages the price, reliability and performance benefits of MySQL on the Linux platform to offer a powerful messaging solution to small and mid-sized global organizations. Initially released in March 2003, Repartee LX is the newest product in Active Voice's well-known Repartee family. The latest version of Repartee LX with the MySQL database is expected to be released later this year.

Active Voice has licensed the open source MySQL database under a commercial license backed by MySQL AB. MySQL AB's dual licensing business model gives organizations the choice of using the free software/open source GPL license at no cost or purchasing a commercial license that frees them of open source software requirements.
