LINUXWORLD EXPO, NEW YORK - (January 21, 2003) - MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that it is hosting the First Annual MySQL Users Conference & Expo, to take place in San Jose, California, April 10-12, 2003. Sun Microsystems' Jonathan Schwartz to Deliver Keynote

MySQL is pleased to announce that Jonathan Schwartz, executive vice president for Software at Sun Microsystems Inc., will deliver the keynote address at the MySQL Users Conference & Expo on Friday, April 11. Mr. Schwartz will address the challenges and opportunities in the open source movement in a talk titled "History repeats itself: what Linux can learn from the Unix wars."

In addition to Mr. Schwartz, industry luminaries will be featured speakers, including Mårten Mickos, MySQL CEO, Michael (Monty) Widenius, MySQL CTO and co-founder, David Axmark, MySQL co-founder, and Rasmus Lerdorf, creator of PHP.
