LINUXWORLD EXPO, NEW YORK - (January 21, 2003) - MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that it is hosting the First Annual MySQL Users Conference & Expo, to take place in San Jose, California, April 10-12, 2003. At this landmark event, which will be the biggest gathering of MySQL users, customers and partners ever, attendees can learn more about available and upcoming MySQL technology, hear about MySQL AB's business and technology plans, discover new business opportunities and network with peers from around the world.
MySQL is pleased to announce that Jonathan Schwartz, executive vice president for Software at Sun Microsystems Inc., will deliver the keynote address at the MySQL Users Conference & Expo on Friday, April 11. Mr. Schwartz will address the challenges and opportunities in the open source movement in a talk titled "History repeats itself: what Linux can learn from the Unix wars."
